Spring cleaning

Well, it sort of falls under that umbrella. As I have some time on my hands, and an urge to actually get to grips with being 'back on track' with making things, yesterday I decided to pull out all the boxed card-making stuff I know I had. This appears to be the bulk of my cardstock. However, this is one of five boxes of things relating to card-making! I got the four small ones out of storage and will try to go through the other three today. As you can see, they're pretty full. Once I've done that there's one big box with scrapbooking papers, ribbons and other decorative items that I need to tackle. I'm working my way up to the massive brown cardboard box which is labelled "craft stuff" as what it contains is anyone's guess; could be more cardstock, could be beads, wooden blanks, gemstones, soap-making paraphernlia, could be display stands... As long as it doesn't have a giant spider lurking on it, I should be okay.

Yet more findings

I thought I'd take advantage of the lockdown situation to sort out some of the boxes at the back of shelves in the garage. There was one lurking in a shady spot labelled "misc", which is the sort of helpful information I tend to write on boxes when flustered. I found a pair of pliers I thought I'd lost when we moved, along with some small beads and crystals, tucked into the corner of a large box. I also found a bag with a load of rather nice glass beads, and a number of card toppers.  So they'll be put into use some time quite soon. The piece de resistance, so to speak was the discovery of some wooden blanks (like the hanging ornaments in one of my FB albums, and some words) and my long-lost soap making supplies. I won't be offering soaps or bath products for sale, but I'm glad to have found them to make use of for myself later. Having found the last of the pre-made jewellery and cards, I have a few more photographs to take and then

Findings

One of the good things about the current 'lockdown' situation is that it inspires one to tidy and sort out cupboards and long-ignored boxes. In doing so, I found an extra stash of earrings that I had forgotten all about and a few pendants. I've just photographed and listed them all on my facebook page. Now "all" I need to do is to photograph all the available cards I have. However, the camera battery has just run out of oomph so that'll have to wait until tomorrow as I can't find the spare. I suspect it is in a cupboard or a long-ignored box somewhere! In the meantime, here are some of the lovely beads I've got put aside to work with.

Welcome!  This is the first page of my blog, written in very unusual circumstances. Right now I am "cooped up" at home, following advice to stay home as much as possible in light of the Corona virus pandemic. Being unable to carry out all my 'normal' distractions has given me time to reflect and review. When I started making craft items, years ago, I ..... you can see my old blog here -  https://ravenstarcrafts.blogspot.com/ Right now I can't log into that site to update and point you here! I've been away from crafting of many kinds for quite a few years.... Now I'm working with the lovely Riverbank witch  to bring you all manner of handmade items.  Now I have dusted off my beads and papers, and I'm back.  These are some the the gems I have available to make earrings/bracelets with. Lots of sparkly crystals and beautiful semi-precious stones.  Right now, I'm using my Facebook page to showcase what I currently have available.
